Overpowering dust and fragrance First I really love
Works well leaves WAY too much perfumy dust residue Although my cats 2 are very comfortable doing their business in this litter the dust that settles over everything within 10 feet of the litter box is overwhelming and persistent. I am looking for a better alternative even if it costs a little more.
Ooh that Smell A Kid's Review And it's not a good one. This cat litter is scented a horribly strong soapy scent that takes over the entire room when I add more to the box. And if my cats have just visited the bathroom and come anywhere near me I get a whiff too.Besides that it really doesn't work as well as the previous brand I was using to eliminate the smell of cat waste so the soapy smell mixes with that and it's entirely unpleasant.Although the clumping capabilities are decent they're not amazing. If this were my only complaint I would probably still use Fresh Step Scoopable.While affordably priced and widely available Fresh Step Scoopable isn't the best cat litter product I've used.

Works awesome with big flaws I'd give this stuff 5 stars for pure functionality. My cat pees and this litter clumps solid as concrete and makes it easy to remove the offending mass. My cat poops and the turds are immediately dehydrated into petrified brown twigs that don't stink up my place. The problem with the litter is 2 fold There seems to be an infinite amount of dust in the box and the perfume is 1000x too strong. I don't know how they have room to fit actual litter in the box with all the dust that comes with it! Dumping out the litter results in a noxious cloud of dust that immediately fills your lungs and throat. Delicious! My cat uses the litter just fine but then smells like a dusty fakeflowery litter box for the next couple hours. This is not that big of a deal until it's Human Must Pet Me Now! time after she's heeded the call of nature.Alternately I have tried a different brand of litter that rhymes with Didy Cat and it has no dust smells good and not overpowering. But! It doesn't clump well at all and starts to stink after a few days of kittycontinence. I can only assume the super perfume and all the dust have something to do with making this Fresh Step version work so well.I'm just going to have to do some research and see if I can find a happy medium.
Very Dusty I must say it is one of the dustiest cat litters I've tried. Does it do as it claimes? Yes however it also sent me to the hospital with a terrible migrane/sinus/pressure headache. After an injection and pills I found myself STILL waking up every morning in terrible pain. This went on for another week until I realized the ONLY thing different was that I switched to Fresh Step cat litter. We have 3 cats 3 litter boxes so the dust was EVERYWHERE. Trying to clean them after one scoop you'd have to wait until the dust cleared so you could see in the box.After realizing this could be causing my sinus issue I switched back to my old brand cleaned the boxes vacuumed the house and dusted the very next day my head went from an 8 pain in the morning down to a 2. And after a few more days I'm back at 0.I could hardly believe that switching a cat litter could have SUCH an impact on my sinuses. I can only imagine what my cats were feeling when they were in there covering their business. <cough cough> Works fine if <cough cough> you can handle the dust.
fresh step fan After trying dozens of litters we found Fresh Step and have been happy ever since. It's clumping properties work well with our rolling litter box. There is a stronger flowery scent to the litter right after Sammy our cat exits the box which dissipates within minutes. However that is why I buy a scented litter! It is so much better than the alternative. The house never smells of litter clean or soiled. It worked equally well when we had more than one cat. I would highly recommend this product if you are looking for a solution to a smelly problem.
This smell haunts my life Ok so at first I was impressed by this litter it clumps really well and within 2 minutes of our cat doing his business there is no poo smell at all and I've never smelled [] once even right after he uses the box. If that is the bottom line for you great but I have HUGE issues with this litter.About 2 months into using this litter I started working out of our spare room which unfortunately is the only place we can keep the litter box.
Good Kitty Litter That Works Well Recommended! Fresh Step Cat Litter works well at reducing the unpleasant scents from the litter box. It clumps as expected and holds together when being scooped out.The cats like it too which is important.
Came right back to Fresh Step Scoopable Our cat seems to have a huge bladder and being someone who ends up with sinus headaches from the smell of cat urine good litter is a priority. Also I don't want anyone who is coming over to have that feeling they just stepped into a cat house. Fresh Step scoopable did that for me. The soapy smell is strong and we do have a bit of dust although no where near a face explosion but these both fade within a minute or two.
