  • holy grail of litter We love cats and have always had three adult cats in our home or apartment. We've used pretty much every brand of litter on the market usually whatever happens to be on sale. One day I found a box of Swheat Scoop on sale so I bought it. I have not smelled a hint of anything since we started using it two weeks ago. Additionally the cats seem to like it better. I can't fully explain what I mean by that maybe they find the clumps of wheat less offensive than clumps of other brands if that makes any sense. They just generally seem to hang out in there longer and sometimes I swear I catch them smiling upon exit. The only small con is that it tends to clump too much at the bottom of the box so it takes a little extra work cleaning the boxes. However because this litter eliminates odor completely somehow magically we're Swheat Scoopers 4 life. I am SO happy we found this litter.
No litter is perfect but this is the best Pros1. Better odor containment and neutralization than virtually any other litter I've ever tried no gross perfumey smell.2. Low tracking compared to most litters especially clay litters.3. Lower dust than clay still some but not as much.4. Better for the environment no clay strip mining no toxic additives and for your cats' health.5. Lighter weight than clay for easier lugging from the store to home.6. Price is good $6.50 for 12.3 lbs at my grocery store especially when you remember that you can't do a pound by pound comparison to clay clay is heavier by volume.7. Coupons for every 12 you can send in proof of purchase clippings that get you a free box/bag in whatever size you buy it and they also send some $1 off coupons as a bonus.8. Excellent customer service. It's a small company in Detroit that just makes litter and they will talk to you oneonone and help you in any way they can.9. From the last point it's made in the USA.10.
Decent ecofriendly litter I've tried almost every kind of litter out there for my cat but this one tracks the most. The little wheat pieces stick onto his feet and scatter everywhere. But it is ecofriendly and flushable which is important to me. I wouldn't call the odor control quite as good as the clay litters but it does clump up nicely. We've gone through a few bags and plan to continue since as another reviewer said the pros outweigh the cons.
not great I have two cats who had no trouble with using the litter we have two litterboxes and I only mixed this into one but the stuff is lousy odor control and needs to be dumped after two days and that's not going to work. The cats used it for two days and then abandoned the box for the old litter & I couldn't argue with the. I clean the boxes daily yet Seriously it smelled so strongly of ammonia well it made my eyes burn and I found that totally unacceptable.
My favorite cat litter and I've tried em all. I love that this litter does not have anythat I can detect smell. It does have just a little dust clumps beautifully. Lasts just as long as the smelly litters.
Bug Heaven Noooo! Don't use this stuff if your home is prone to pests! We recently had a HUGE problem with pantry mothsin our closet where we kept the cat box. Pantry moths do in fact eat wheat. After WEEKS of moth traps a new litter box and DEFINITELY new litter we finally got rid of our infestation.
Love Swheat Scoop!! After trying many many brands of kitty litter I finally found one that is environmentally friendly and pretty affordable! I used to use Fresh Step but HATED the amount of dust that got everywhere. It's disgusting. Just pouring the litter into the box you choke on all the dust it creates and it leaves a solid layer of black grime on everything. After reading many reviews I chose Swheat Scoop because you can flush it. After using it for about 2 weeks I am definitely in love! There is NO DUST!!!!! My cat is sooo much happier not having to breath in the dust every time she goes to the bathroom. I found that is clumps fairly well considering it is completely natural. I do wish that there was a stronger scent to cover the ammonia smell which is why I gave it 4 starts instead of 5 but I think if I add some baking soda it will help. I scoop my litter ever day and never had an issue with it sticking to the litter box. I heard Worlds Best smells better but after reading all the reviews about how dusty it is I won't try it. Swheat Scoop doesn't track nearly as much as clay litter does it's nice to not have to vacuum everyday.I totally suggest you try Swheat Scoop you wont be disappointed!!Plus they come with coupons so you can get a bag free after collecting 12 of them.
Worked great for years but now I'm bugged I've been using Swheat Scoop for the past seven years and have been a big fan of it. It clumps well controls odors isn't excessively dusty doesn't cling to my cats' paws like cement and doesn't aggravate my cats' breathing problems.A few days ago I opened up a fresh package of Swheat Scoop Multi Cat poured it into the litter box and was horrified to see that there were hundreds of small insects in it. Yes hundreds. Most of them were dead but I can't be certain that they were ALL dead so I immediately dumped this brand new litter into a garbage bag and threw it out. The LAST thing I need in my life right now is a bug infestation.I went to a different store and purchased another package of Swheat Scoop. Brought it home and had the exact same problem full of bugs.Swheat Scoop has a very firm statement on their web site about the bug issue claiming that there is no way the bugs can originate from the factory. Even if that's true the fact remains that I purchased two separate packages from two separate vendors who use two separate distributors and both were infested. To make matters worse the vast majority of pet supply stores and department stores will NOT give you a refund on cat litter purchases unless the package is unopened. I learned this the hard way unfortunately.I've always loved this product and I've convinced many friends to switch to it. I've given Swheat Scoop a lot of new customers not to mention the thousands of dollars I've spent on it over the past seven years but now I find myself looking for a new litter.
Best. Cat Litter. Ever. I picked up a box of Swheat Scoop in the grocery store one day on a whim. It was on sale for almost half the price of my usual litter so I just shrugged and plunked it in my cart. I didn't even need litter that day. Best impulse buy I EVER made. I live with roommates so I have to keep my cat's litterbox wedged in a tiny closet in my bathroom where smells tend to collect and never go away remove the source of the smell it will still linger for days. I tried EVERYTHING to stop this from happening but about a month after I moved in the smell had begun to spill over into my bathroom and soon the entire master suite smelled permenantly of litter. Within a week of switching to Swheat Scoop the smell began to dissipate and is now only a distant memory so is the dusty mess of clay litter.
TOO TASTY FOR DOGS Not a good choice if you have dogs at home. My dog has always grabbed a snack or 2 from the litter box if she gets an opportunity but when I put the swheat scoop in she devoured the clean litter. Ate so much she made herself sick.

  • Ideal for apartment and condo kitties
  • Not harmful to cat's respitory system
  • 99% Dust free

  • A lot of dust in the litter but a fairly good product I think this litter has more dust than the scoopable litters I typically use when I would pour it into the litter box quite a cloud of dust came up.As for the litter itself I think it was pretty good. I think it controlled odors quite well and seemed to clump nicely for scooping. I used it in the rolling cat litter box and the clumps stay tight through the rolling and falling into the tray process.I think they could improve on the packaging. The top of the bag didn't open easily so I had a ragged torn edge which caught litter as I poured from the bag into the litter box. For the final pour to empty the bag quite a bit of litter fell every which way because of the ragged opening I had to pour through.
Very good litter This litter clumps pretty well most of the time obsorbs odors very well and somehow seems to last longer than other litters I have tried. My only complaint is that it does throw quite a good bit of dust when filling the litter box. I was a little spoiled I guess since the last bag of litter I bought here at Amazon had absolutely NO dust at all.It clumps well most of the time. Sometimes when I am scooping the box the clumps with urine break up and fall through the sifter while other clumps are hard and scoop right out without crumbling.I am not quite sure how or why but this bag has seemed to last me longer than I expected and longer than it really should have based on previous experience with my cats' litter box usage.I have 2 female cats who use the same litter box. The odor control with this litter is wonderful especially with it being an unscented litter. There are days I walk past the litter box and say to myself oops forgot to scoop it today but yet it has no odors at all. It is one of those things where if you don't smell it you kinda forget about it so since this litter works so well at odor control I have to make a point to remind myself to scoop it so that the kitties aren't literally walking into a mess in their box even though the odor is not present.Price 16 bucks is adequate for quantity and performance and I would recommend this litter as long as you don't mind the dust cloud.
NEVER RECEIVED IT I NEVER RECEIVED THIS ITEM BUT NOT BECAUSE OF AMAZON THEY REORDERED IT 3 TIMES AND CREDITED ME MONEY FOR MY TROUBLES. FINALLY AFTER 3 TRIES AMAZON CREDITED THE MONEY BACK TO MY ACCOUNT.
Super Price for a Super Product with Free Shipping! This 50# box of kitty litter was just an awesome purchase!! It was delivered for free to my home all I had to do was carry it from the porch to the kitchen where I keep it and when I opened it I was in aroma heaven! It smelled delicious and my kitties loved it. If you want a litter that really works and there's NO odor whatsoever try this product. It was in perfect shape when it arrived at it's new home and I received it fast. Thanks Amazon.com for free shipping and such products to choose from. I would never have to leave my home!! Amazon.
Cat Litter This product is very good and affordable. I am a first time cat owner and was afraid the litter will smell. I alsot bought the Roll'n Clean SelfCleaning litter Box Large for my kitty Ragdoll. This litter grain is fine almost like rice. The only bad part it absorbs A LOT or maybe my kitty pees too much not sure so when I roll the box to clean there is half a drawer full of clumps thus having to top off the litter box every other day. That sure keeps the room smelling fresh and clean.
Dosen't work in Littermaid automatic cat box The bag was shipped inside a cardboard box and when it arrived the catlitter bag had broke open. I was able to salvage the contents. We used it in a Littermaid automatic litterbox but this litter dosen't clump as well as other brands. It might be OK for other boxes but it didn't work for us.
Leaky bag This litter works fine but the bag was leaking all over the place when it arrived needs to be packaged better.
This is great litter. I have 11 cats long story and this litter totally takes care of the oder of so many cats. People come over and don't know I even have catsuntil they see them.I would have given this 5stars. My problem is with Amazon itself. Item at the time I purchased it was advertised as having FREE shipping with a $25 purchase. My order exceeded that as noted on the order screen and I had a gift card balance to cover my order. Amazon still requires credit card informations to pay for a ZERO balance.
Really poor odor control. I'm not used to using expensive litter my goto is the cheapest PetSmart option Precious Cat but this stuff is too cheapo for me. The smell is awful. I've been cleaning my cat's box every day and it still stinks up half the house. Plus the tracking issues aren't noticeably better or worse than with Precious Cat. As soon as I use this up I'm going back to my usual brand.
Best litter in so many ways I have used

Arm Hammer Clumping Litter Unscented Arm & Hammer sells cement!?

Arm and Hammer Super Scoop Clumping Cat Litter, Unscented, 28 Pound Box
Arm and Hammer Super Scoop Clumping Cat Litter, Unscented, 28 Pound Box Read more...

  • Hard Clumps Lock-In Odors And Resist Crumbling
  • Highly absorbent corn fibers absorb twice the odor causing urine.
  • It clumps hard and fast to lock in odors on contact.

  • Cat Litter I've tried them alland I mean all. Thus far the ones I've tried always had one drawback whether it's too dusty that sweet nauseating scent cats didn't like it and on and on. This cat litter the Unscented Arm & Hammer product is excellent. No dust unscented good for cats clumps nicely and best of all the cats like itno more messes outside the box! I cannot rate this product high enough.
Arm & Hammer sells cement!? It all started when I pulled a muscle trying to shovel the globs of cement from my cats box I literally had to start cleaning the box completely after my cat had gone to the bathroom or else it would solidify into a giant chunk of rock. Then it hit me while I was laying my new tile down weebers layed down his business and I had some nice cheap grout on hand. I started to cry..and no it's not because it stinks like cat pee..
Only One for Asthmatic Cats Two of my cats and I both have asthma and I have allegies to all kinds of perfumed products. This is only the litter that works for all of us. In fact my cats no longer have to take prednisone or prednisolone damaging prescriptions to control their symptoms. Also in comparing it with several other kinds of litter used with my nonasthmatic cats this litter clumps tighter and uses less litter to do so is easier to scoop out and almost never falls apart. I appreciate Arm & Hammer for making this wonderful product. And Amazon often has competitive prices with the stores in my area.
Flushable! This litter clumps well but not so hard that it can't be flushed. If you keep the litter box in the bathroom it makes cleanup fast and easy. In addition the litter is not overly scented. It just smells clean. Highly recommended.
Wonderful cats LOVE it no asthma problems Does the job. With 3 cats and several litter boxes I sat one up with this particular variety of Arm & Hammer litter. Immediately which is unusual for my suspiciousofchange group all 3 cats switched to this one and won't use the other boxes available with other products. For me litterbox compliance is a HUGE factor! It looks more like dirt to me and maybe to the cats too??Both my own allergist I have asthma too and my vet have said for MY health to use a fragrancefree product. Vet said its better for cats too. Before now I used plain old clay litter. But this product clumps so much better and I do love that aspect. Urine clumps best if I wait 10 minutes or so before I try to scoop. Oh and I've always had best scooping results with a nonperforated spoon. Buy long handled ones from restaurant suppliers.Odor is not a problem even with 3 cats using same pan. That might be helped by scooping frequently everyday which is one of my retirement hobbies so it seems.Free shipping of the 28 lb boxes thru amazon has saved my husband's back. It's at our doorstep and he can use a handtruck to move it to the garage. We're happy.
Satisfied customer. I like Arm and Hammer litter. It clumps well and doesn't produce as much dust as many others do.
Great litter This product clumps wonderfully and controls litter odor better than a lot of the other litter brands that I have used.
Disappointing I've tried three Arm & Hammer litter products & been disappointed in them all. This stuff neutralizes the odors well enough but does not clump well at all. I've often had to scrape mud out of the bottom of the box & my cats have had concrete boots way too frequently.
Clumps well fragrance free This litter clumps nicely and is easy to scoop. It's not too dusty and is fragrance free so it's great for people and cats with asthma or other sensitivities. I love that it's eligible for free super saver shipping since I could never lug a 28lb box home from the grocery store. I have 2 cats and one 28lb box lasts me a month.
Dont keep the litter box in the bathroom if you use this litter I have been using Arms n Hammer for 1.5 years without any problemBit expensive though. But when we changed apartments I shifted the litter box to the bathroom. Previously it was in the study. Then all the problems started. I am used to clean the box in the morning after everybody has finished using the bathroom. At that point the bathroom is very very humid and the litter absorbs water becomes a gooey mash. These unstable big clumps break when I try to scoop them and it is a total mess.I have tried to clean the box in the evenings when the bathroom is dry but still the litter is wet and clumped. So my advice is if you use this litter keep the box in a very dry place. Definitely not the bathroom.

  • Safely digestible.
  • Clay and chemical free.
  • Soft on sensitive paws.

  • Best cat litter ever!!! For a few years now Swheat Scoop is the one and only cat litter I use. My cats like it and the best thing is that it's flushable! It doesn't contain harmful chemicals that your beloved pet breaths in and cleans from its fur. Swheat Scoop is the only litter on the market that's certified flushable in sewer or septic systems.
SWheat cat litter This litter is really wonderful. I have 3 cats and have tried many. This litter is very soft and silky to the touch I believe it feels good to their paws andtherefore encourages use of the litter box. I am still using clumping clay inone of the three boxes so as to give the cats a choice. They are all differentand somewhat finicky. This litter is flushable which is a big deal it's gone in an instant and doesnot clog the plumbing. It's also a natural food product so if any is ingested itwon't be harmful. My cats don't eat it but some do! There is never any odor whichis remarkable as it's not scented.
Too light This Swheat Scoop Natural Cat Litter was so light that it stuck to my cat's paws and that made her uneasy. She was never in the litter box more than a few seconds and after jumping out of the box she shook her legs to get the clingy litter off of them. Now I am back to claytype litter. She likes the density of clay litter. If your cats hate sticky material to their feet this product may not work.

  • Infrared sensors send rake through litter; re-sealable waste receptacle

  • Don't buy this I have had these in the past and have had good luck with them. Now they are obviously made cheaper and don't work from the start. I have tried everything to get statisfaction from the company but I can't give them enough numbers off the #%** thing. Everytime I call the person I get wants another set of numbers. They are hard to read and located everywhere. I bought a large deluxe model and a small one. They have never worked.
Save your money Poor build quality and design. Sensors and track get dirty and the rake runs back and forth repeatedly freaking the cats out. Used it for several weeks and abandoned it in favor of the trusted plastic scooper.
Just what we needed We needed something that could make a clean spot for our furry friends more often than we could as they were not happy with our onceaday cleanout. This works great. The only bad thing is the design of the receptable cover. Bending back the bumps doesn't always work too well and the filters never I mean never stick. However the rest works just great and we are happy with it.
good if you have a small cat works well. not very good if you have a large cat. tho my medium size cat makes do with its smallish size. we'll never go back to the old litter box. this is what we use in both our main home and our country house. both our children use them also.
Ours lasted 9 years! Ours lasted 9 years. Little music players with no moving parts don't even last that long these days! On our unit now the sensor seems to no longer work to tell the unit when to scoop. The unit will still scoop when we turn it on and off. This just happened this week. For the price and having it last 9 years I have no complaints. Our cat has loved it. We will be buying another one. If you want to save on the receptacles it's easy to cover them with a small trash bag.
Good Product I had one of these several years ago and recently replaced it with a new one. It is true that the product quality has declined in recent years. The rake does not reach the bottom of the box any longer the motor is weaker. Chalk it up to the old they don't build 'em they way they used to which is true of many products these days. However this is still WAY better than a traditional box and after much research I decided that this automatic box with the modification mentioned below is the lowestmaintenence option available.Be aware you will have to check it every 12 days to scrape any hardened litter from the bottom scoop any missed bits knock bits off the rake if needed add more litter and spread the litter evenly. This is NOT a complete litter change it will take 23 minutes and is much less work than manually scooping/cleaning a traditional box.
Waste of money Difficult to assemble and immediately broke. The little wheel on the side came off and then the machine jammed. Waste of money.
Works ok I bought this in 2004. it was one of the first brands to make auto litter boxes. I had it in the corridor & plugged in and it did serve me well for 2 years that I had my cat. It scoops the litter ok and dumps it in the compartments that seal hermetically and dont smell. I used to overdo it a bit though and the poor machine would dump cat wastes over and over for whole week before I get to clean it due to my busy schedule. But when I had to clean it it was like WWII chemical attach because of the entire compartment being filled with poops and pee balls.
bad sensors I bought my unit in November 2008. Now January 2010 and the sensors are not working. Littermaid will do NOTHING because unit is out of warranty. Out of warranty by a couple of months. Give me a break. I paid around $100 for the unit and now it is no better than a regular cat box.
It makes my life less stinky! Although there are several flaws in the design that have hopefully been fixed in the newer models.although it does still require SOME maintenance..I do like my litter box. It is nice to walk in the door after work and not smell cat poop. And I don't have to leave a second box out if I leave town for a couple of days.I have two cats and I dump the poop/pee tray twice a week. Once every day or two I rake the litter around because my cats tend to push it all over to one side of the box. Yes you have to sweep or vacuum around the box. Yes sometimes a little turd gets stuck in or behind the rake. I guess I just don't see that as a big deal.

  • Does not clump well for multi cats I have two cats and scoop every other day. Super scoop works better and traps odor better. Something about the Multicat just doesn't clump together as well.
Great litter for odors This is the best I have found to control the odor and I have 4 cats.
Doesn't block odor I have two small kittens and this litter doesn't hold up. Doesn't block odor and makes a mess when the kittens exit the litter box. Particles are all over the outside of the litter box.
Holds up to four cats This brand works better than the others we've tried in our household. We have four cats and scoop the litter box at least every other day. The only time we've had an odor problem is when a cat missed the box! [She's not very smart].We've tried other brands and other 'formulas' from Arm & Hammer but were unhappy with the stink.I wonder if some of the people who were unhappy with the odor control of the MultiCat litter actually tried the Unscented MultiCat litter the packaging is nearly identical but it doesn't control odor at all.
This is the best cat litter I have ever used!!
So far so good. I just started using this it handles the odor well is not very dusty and smells ok.

    • Cats like it & OK for septic tank disposal I live in Ghana and my house has a septic tank and there are issues with garbage disposal so I need a litter that I can flush. The man who built my septic tank gave the OK for this product after 1 of my cats refused corn cob litter and wheat litter. Both Maine Coons and the Tabby have all accepted PaPurr scoopable cat litter with no hesitation. One of the Maine Coons hated the corn cob litter so much he did his business on the rug next to the litter box then scratched at the rug until he turned over a corner and thus covered his leavings. When I switched to PaPurr I could almost hear his sigh of relief. The only reason I give less than 5 stars is that it does not clump all that well and takes care and attention to scoop. But I am sure the cats give it 5 stars.
Way better than I had expected now the only one I use I was hesitant to buy this product sounded too good to be true. It does clump tightly it is flushable it does control odor my cat didn't seem to notice the change and it was way easier on my allergies.
Wish there was a litter that did everything it should! I have been on a mission to find a litter that has less dust. Have used Everclean with Crystals for years & it was pretty good. Can't find it anymore & my husband brought home Everclean Multicat. Yuk! It is so dusty & the perfume smell is nauseating. Papurr sounded very interesting & although quite expensive I thought I would give it a try. Opened the bag thought it looked quite nice didn't smell too bad and when I poured it into the box no dust! Both kitties seemed to have no problem adjusting to it they are not terribly fussy. After trying to scoop the litter box I went back & looked at the bag to make sure I purchased the scoopable product. I guess I have learned now that scoopable does not really mean 'clumping'. I had no trouble scooping the poops but the urine does not clump & ends up on the bottom of the box forming some kind of light green goo. Pretty disgusting. Ok so I am now going to try Purr & Simple. I just really want to get away from the clay litters. I know they are not good for my cats & not especially good for us when we breathe the dust. My one cat is allergic to all grains so the wheat & corn litters are not an option. They are already using the Purr & Simple told you they were not fussy. Haven't done any scooping yet my husband does the morning scoop detail. Will update & let you know if this is the litter I will use.
smells like urine on newspaper I have owned multiple cats for almost 30 years. We keep our litter box in the laundry room and my wife asked if the litter we use is the best for odor. I felt as if I had tried every brand but perhaps there was a new product out there. So I did some searching for the best litter. From the reviews PaPurr seemed to be the answer. After shipping the cost was over $42.00. When it came to scooping poop it did fine but as most of us know a child's sandbox sand can do that job. The urine does not clump. It soaks in and smells as if you are training a puppy. I ended up throwing the litter away after a few days.Don't waste your time or money on this product.
Simply ok PaPurr litter is simply ok. It does clump somewhat although very loosely. It did prevent odor for a couple of days but after scooping the ammonia smell kept getting worse and worse. It also tracked easily. The best thing I can say about this litter is that it is not grain based I have a cat with a grain allergy and it is biodegradeable. I will continue my search for a better litter.
I don't like it I've been in search of a nonclay cat litter that can perform like clay litter. I've seen good reviews of PaPurr and was hoping it was the solution. I think I'm going to have to move onto trying another litter. About the only true pro I can say about it is that it is very light. However that means it tracks very easily. I could live with that though if it clumped well and hid smells. I don't think it does either well. The clumping ability is not good and I've never used a litter that did such a terrible job of masking odors. I could smell ammonia outside the room the litter box is in. Based on the reviews there's obviously people that like this litter but I can't suggest it.
Great litter My cats and my sniffer both like this stuff. This is the best litter that I have ever used. I think it clumps very nicely and I noticed that my allergies don't act up when I clean it. I use scented arm and hammer baking soda with it to cut down on odors. My cats adjusted to it right away. As some reviewers pointed out it really does look like litter. I switched one of the boxes over a week ago just to make sure there were no problems. Both cats seemed to like it. One word of warning though be careful when you open the box. I sliced open the bag when I was opening the box. The litter bags are a little flimsy.
Awesome! This Papurr is great for my cats! It has the texture of small granule clay excellent because my cats reject the pellet design of most newspaper litters AND it clumps!!! As far as the scent it is very mild smells like a slight whiff of baby powder. I like the fact that Paypurr uses Guar Gum for the clumping agent as this is a sticky plant product used in food for binding the ingredients in recipes it is completely edible and safe for cats.
Cat Litter that Recycles Waste to Eliminate Waste I learned recently that PaPurr is manufactured from the stuff that paper mills usually throw away when they've made paper towels. That's fantastic! The folks at PaPurr take something that someone would usually just toss out and make something that our cats LOVE! It's so soft on their paws and THERE'S NO DUST!!!!!! If I'm not sneezing and wondering what's going into my lungs with this stuff and I'm six feet above the box I'm forced to believe the cat being right there at ground zero loves the fact he/she isn't breathing litter dust into his/her lungs.Added bonus an 18lb bag of PaPurr performs like a 30lb bag of clay litter.
Good Product overall I had used this litter several years ago with our older cat when it was available locally and was happy with it. I now have two additional cats one of whom is kind of fussy about her litter doesn't like scented litters and have been doing sidebyside comparisons of different litters to see what she would like. I was happy when I found that the litter was available again and since the shipping was free it was worth ordering online. I like the fact that the litter is lighter weight it clumps pretty nicely and odor control is good. The rounded particle shape is particularly easy to sift through. Because the litter is light there is a little bit of kick out due to vigorous covering attempts I have standard open boxes but I'd say actual tracking was very low. The down side was that even though the litter isn't scented per se it does have that unique odor that most paper litters have. It's not really a bad smell but not terribly pleasant either. So I'm not sure if it was the scent or not but the fussy cat wouldn't ever use it. Thankfully the other cats did so it wasn't a complete waste.

25lb bag of Awesomeness This is by far the best litter I have purchased yet. I previously tried The World's Best Litter & was extremely disappointed with the noodor control & awful smell it left in our home. Very embarrassing especially when you had guest over. I just purchased this product a week ago & have to say that I am impressed. This litter is totally awesome with clumping & odor. Unbelievable!!! My husband & I woke up to a terrible poop smelling home with The World's Best Litter every morning. Words cannot express how awful that smell was. Not the case with Ever Clean. I can be gone for hours & when I return litter box is full but absolutely no smell whatsoever. No more poop smelling home as well every morning. It is a bit dusty when pouring or scooping but I use a mask every time I pour it & keep my cats away when I am scooping. Tracking is not a problem as I use a litter mat outside of the litter box & this seems to keep their paws & my home cleaner. If you are seeking for a good clumping litter that is totally odor free this is the litter for you. I absolutely without reservation recommend this litter.

Fresh Step Natural Scoop 30607 The best litter I've tried in 10 years since I got Kitty

    • Fresh step natural scoop litter has activated carbon to constantly eliminate odors.
    • Made with natural pine and safe for use by your cat.
    • Clumps tight.
    • The same great odor control ingredients as fresh step clay.

    • Love this litter! I used another clumping cat litter that I used for many years but it always made me cough. One day I decided it was probably bad for me so I tried about four different natural cat litters. This one is the best! I love the weight the odor or lack thereof and its clumping capability. It's terrific.
Smells like a forest! I am a chronic migraine patient and I'm hypersensitive to smells so it took me forever to find a cat litter that I liked we were using Tidy Cat Scoop that was not too perfumey and still did not leave the house smelling like cat which drives me nuts and we have three cats so that's always a concern. Then they went and changed the formula on us and they started making it more and more perfumey and it started to really bug my head so we started looking for something else. I was THRILLED to find this stuff! The other reviewers are correct when they say that the cats track it everywhere they do. And we have three longhaired cats so it gets stuck on their fur worse than most. But once they get used to the litter they learn to get it off their fur better although they do still track it. Swiffer Vacs work great for that. Once around the house if you have a hard floor and it's gone. If you've got carpet a Roomba is a good investment for anyone with a cat but I suppose it depends on the size of your place. Anyway I digress. But in my opinion cats track every litter on their paws the difference is that you see this stuff a bit more because it's a bit more flaky and isn't white like the clay stuff. But I guarantee you as an allergy/migraine person that clay stuff is still there on their paws when they walk out of the box. That's why so many people have houses that smell all catty or littery. You don't get that problem with this stuff you just smell wood shavings like a fallen tree or a piney forest. It's such a refreshing change!Full disclosure the stuff is pricey so it helps to mix a little of something else with it to make it last. I use the Fresh Step Crystals. This can also help if you think the piney smell is not fresh enough which I get if you're not used to it or if your cats are used to regular litter and don't want to use it. Your cats may also think it feels a little funny on their paws and may fuss about using it at first. Mine kicked up quite a fit. Much peeing on the side of the box for a few days. I stuck it out and now they prefer this stuff we have two boxes with this and one with the old Tidy Cat and they hardly ever use the old one anymore. Finally you will have to change this a bit more often than your typical clay litter and scoop a bit differently. It does clump but the clumps tend to fall to the bottoms and sides and break up a bit more easily. My cats are fussy so I find myself changing every 56 days rather than once a week like with the old litter.
The best litter I've tried in 10 years since I got Kitty I am not having the problems other people are writing about. I love how light this litter is. I don't notice dust or any smell at all and I have a sensitive nose just see my other reviews!. I think the people who don't like the smell are used to perfumey antiseptic smelling litters. My cat took to it right away.
Messy and Doesn't clump well We thought we'd try this out since we like the regular Fresh Step and it seemed light weight and more ecofriendly. However right away we noticed our cat created dust trails of this stuff as far as 10ft away. The litter is made of dust mulch so you can imagine it easily carries with their fur. I did not notice an odor until I opened the cat litter. It seemed to smell more than the regular Fresh Step. Also the litter did not dry out the poop as well so although it was clumpy sometimes I hit a mushy center. Yuck. Also the litter did not easily filter through my scoop so I had to shake vigorously or throw away piles of litter. I think I'll stick to the regular Fresh Step.
Lightweight and messy I recently got a cat after several years of being catless. I have tried several litters and thought this one might be a good green way to handle the kitty potty problem. About the only thing I liked was the lightweight bag that I bought at Walmart. Instead of a heavy bag or container this was a lightweight 3.3 pounds. But the texture is much like sawdust. Kitty seemed to like it okay but she tracked it everywhere. Scooping is difficult unlike clay type litters the urine clumps were hard to find and weren't actually dry when I did. The solid clumps were hard to find in the litter and a lot of sifting was required. I wanted to like this but it just didn't work for me. Next product to try is Ultra Micro Crystals. Look for a review on them soon.
Love it but not purfect! I so want to have a healthier cat litter box for my cat and a more natural experience for him.I really enjoyed using the Yesterday's News cat litter and I won't hesitate using that as it works great in the home and my cat has no issues with it. I really wanted to try something a little bit better to control odor although I am happy with Yesterday's News.As my cat is transitioning into chronic renal failure he is urinating a lot more in the litter box. After a week's use of Fresh Step Natural Step I can really sense that the odor control action is better than Yesterday's News.As for the absorption of urine I think I prefer Yesterday's News handling of this. I really do feel that with Fresh Step Natural Scoop I am throwing away a lot of product. The 3.3 lb bag says it lasts as long as a 20 lb bag of clay litter. Under my situation I will be lucky if the product does last me 2.5 weeks. I know I have to buy a smaller grilled cat scoop to see if I can extend and protect unused cat litter in the box rather than scooping up a good amount of the unused with the larger scoop which has bigger grills and doesn't allow for easy sifting. It is pricier than Yesterday's News as well. The other minus that FS Natural Scoop has is that there is a lot more mess of natural flakes of pine around the bathroom bedroom and sometimes into the rest of the home. This is where Yesterday's News has this beat. However I do like the softness of this matter and the better odor control.***I do love this product and so does the cat. But it's not purfect.
Good odor control..but does not last long I have been trying every kind of litter out there for my 10 lb female cat. My recent favorite was the fresh step crystals but I tried this because they said it was softer on cat paws.I like this because I think it does a better job of odor control than the Arm and Hammer product which gets a funky odor after mixing with the urine. This has almost no scent and absorbs the urine and feces odors quite well. I scoop my cat's litter box EVERY night because I simply cannot tolerate the smell of the litter boxbut when I use this there is no scent to come home to. My only issue is that they claim this small 3.3lb bag will last as long at the 18lb bagsbut this is not true. One bag barely lines the bottom of my litter box and I think I need two of these to last a week. maybe I throw out too much when I scoop? I wish you got more for the price.
Inferior to clay litter in many ways I had several problems with this litter 1. It is too light. While clay litter flows easily through the litter scoop this litter requires me to sift vigorously to separate the cat waste from the unused litter. It's like trying to sift flour. Furthermore this litter does not weigh the box down. My cat has flipped her litter box twice since I started using this. 2. It is too fine. It sticks to the cat when she leaves the box thus tracking litter all over the house. 3. It does not clump well. The clumps are very small so much scooping is required to clean out the box. Combined with the sifting problem cleaning out the box takes a long time and is inefficient. I am going back to clay.
A tradeoff from clay We've been using Fresh Step clumping clay litter for years with our cat and while it clumped well and never smelled bad I was kinda annoyed at how heavy it was. Since moving to NYC and selling our cars the prospect of lugging heavy cat litter back to the apartment was unpleasant to say the least. Which is why I decided to give this product a try. I didn't want to freak the cat out by all of a sudden switching the litter on her so I mixed it in gradually starting with a few handfuls mixed in to her usual litter to get her used to the smell and she seems to have made the transition just fine also the two types of litter seem to work fine mixed together . It's been a few weeks since I first started using it and while I'm glad to see it clumps well and doesn't smell bad there are a couple things that aren't ideal about it. Firstly it clings more to her paws so it tends to get tracked around more compared to the clay litter. I put a small piece of carpet in front of the litter box to help clean the cat's paws when she leaves the litter box and usually the majority of the clay litter would get picked up and contained in the carpet but the pine chips tend to stay stuck on her paws and does not get picked up by the carpet. Secondly though it's not really a big deal with me the litter doesn't fall through a slotted scooper by itself so you have to shake the scooper more to sift it.Overall this was a moderate success. It's definitely a fully functional alternative to the ridiculously heavy clay litter but I haven't yet made up my mind if the benefit of not having to lug heavy litter around is worth the extra vacuuming I need to do to clean up after it.
Augh This stuff if HORRIBLE!!! I have had cats for 18 years all indoor with litter boxes and this litter is by far the worst stuff I have ever tried!! It's an absolute nightmare! It gets stuck all over my two cat's fur one long hair and one short hair. It doesn't clump hard at all the clumps end up being demolished by the next box use. If your cat LOVES to dig and fling cat litter it will end up anywhere else but inside the cat box because it's super lightweight like sawdust my cats make a total mess all over the bathroom. The ONLY plus is that it is okay for odor control. I hate the scented cat litter and this has a nice pine scent.
