Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat litter good quality unscented litter At the instruction of our vetrinarian we only buy only unscented cat litter. Dr Elsey's litters were recommended by the Litter Robot customer service as working well in their product. which they do. We just switched from Dr Elsey's kitten litter to Precious Cat since it is a bit less expensive in a 40 lb bag. We don't use much litter since getting the Litter Robot but appreciate the consistent lowdust unscented quality of this brand. It is difficult/impossible to find unscented highquality cat litter at the grocery store or Target. Purchasing this litter locally would require a separate trip to the pet supply store. Purchasing from Amazon & getting free delivery is convenient & costeffective.
Good litter but not for mechanical litter boxes First I must say that this product seems to be a bit better than the average kitty litter. I did not notice much dust and it kept the waste smells to a minimum. It clumped well and did not stick to the bottom of the litter box too much. My cat did not have difficulty adapting to this litter either.My only issue with this litter and the reason I gave it only three stars is that my LitterMaid mechanical litter box could NOT scoop away the waste. Therefore I needed to manually scoop the litter each day defeating the purpose of a mechanical litter box in the first place.
Excellent litter but cheaper elsewhere I purchased this item because it indicates that there is less tracking with my cat . It is definitely effective. Not 100% but no clay litter is compeltely trackfree. It also has no scent yet seems to absorb odors pretty well. I thought that this item was a good deal with free Amazon shipping however I found it in my local pet store for about $8 less. It seemed to be replaced by the blue bag.
dense but great Of the different litters I've used this is my favorite. It clumps very firmly and seems to me to have no smell. Other reviews have said it doesn't control odor well but I haven't noticed that at all. I do usually scoop the box every day so maybe that helps. The cat box is in my bedroom so I have lots of opportunity to notice it. It's not dusty and doesn't tend to travel far from the box because it is very heavy.The only drawback to this litter is that it is really dense so it's probably not as much litter as you think if you're ordering by weight. The density is a benefit aside from the cost issue.
So far so good It is very very heavy. I was using natural litter before and loved that I could actually lift the bag. This bag had to be dragged into my apartment.In terms of how it worksI have two cats. The boy goes a lot.There is virtually no dust.I have found it clumps really really well.There is always litter on the floor but I figure that is normal and just clean it up.I have not noticed a strong feces/urine odour like with Worlds Best Cat Litter which also had its own bad pine smell but friends say the litter box smells when they come to visit. I think I am immune to the smell unless it is really bad.So far I think I will keep using this brand because there is low dust and very good clumping which is what I wanted.
I love it This is wonderful cat litter. I use it in my Litter Robot. I just changed last month and I am so glad. It lasts a long time. The only thing I don't like is that sometimes the tiny particles stay in my cats fur and shake off.
No odor control Unfortunately this litter failed in one key area odor control. After adding 40lb of this to a clean litterbox the odor was so bad after only one day that I couldn't believe it. This is really too bad because this litter has many other great features such as very low dust larger pieces that clump very tightly and low tracking. I only wish it had any ability to control the litterbox odor. There seemed to be almost no odor neutralization which I notice immediately since I'm in a small apartment and the litterbox is in my bedroom. If you are using this for a litterbox in a utility room or basement perhaps the odor wouldn't be such a problem but this is definitely not for tight living spaces.
Quality litter I purchased precious cat low dust litterwhen my cat developed a breathing problem. I was really pleased with this product. I will continue to use it the litter is a good quality and it's the best I've used.
Dust free but doesn't cover odors Good clumping litter. I tried it to see if it was less dusty than the stuff I get at Costco for half the cost and it is. Unfortunately I'm in a small apartment and the lack of perfume covering up the smells is definitely noticeable. So I'd say if you're looking for something dustfree and unscented this is great. Just don't put it where people will be able to smell the box.
Picky Cats Prefer Precious Cat My younger cat started peeing in front of the litter box to let me know she wasn't satisfied with the litter I chose. I started out with Cat Attract which totally fixed the problemshe even started playing in the litter box she loved it so much. Then we transitioned into Precious Cat at half the price she's still satisfied.
