False Advertising I love my cat to pieces but his #2s smell just terrible. Been using Fresh Step since I got Him and was pretty happy but tried A&H Double Duty because it was on sale. Worst choice ever. This litter does NOTHING for the smell plus it doesn't clump very well. I'm returning the unopened box and getting my money back for the one I used and I never use money back garuntees until now. Spend the extra money on better litter it's worth it in the long run.
Cement I wanted sooo badly to like this litter. I always put baking soda in the bottom of my litter box before any litter and hoped arm and hammer would finally be my winner while trying me litters. WRONG.This stuff advertises that it knocks out all odor and clumps. Cool. What I need. I had to go find my boyfriend in the store because I couldnt LIFT the box. Should have been my first clue. Got home dumped the old litter which was worse then thisArm and hammer essential naturals and had my boyfriend pour it in.. nice size granules no real perfumey odor or smell NO dust seemed okay. Until my cats started using it. I felt like I had put wet cement in their litter box. I only have two cats and make sure to clean it atleast once a day. Everytime I went to clean it the clean and dirty litter was just HEAVY. I also noticed it wasnt controling the odor.. however! it wasnt tracking through my house. Cleaning this litter really did make my arm hurt. just SO heavy. What really got me was when i noticed my cats werent covering their poo! THEY didnt even like the litter. Finally decided to throw out what was left of the box when my youngest cat started pooping and peeing in my bathrub. No go.I probably wont ever try another arm and hammer litter.
BEST LITTER YET I agree with the customer below. I don't know where all these negative reviews are coming from but this is by FAR the best litter I've ever used to dateand I have tried many brands over the years Tidy Cat Maxx Scoop Scoopaway silica gel various store brands etc. None of them compare. This is the ONLY litter that doesn't upset my allergies and literally smell like shite every time I go to scoop out the box. In fact what I do smell isNOTHING. And that folks is precisely what I'm looking for in a cat litter. I don't understand what some of these people mean by strange aromas and perfumey scents. I didn't notice any of that. Unless the stuff here in Canada is formulated differently I certainly don't know what these people are talking about. No more fecal or urine and ammonia smells coming from the litterbox area no more having to cover my nose with my shirt when I'm cleaning the box and no more watery eyes and sneezing when I'm scooping out the waste either. It's a keeper in my book.
Good litter After using multiple litters including other Arm & Hammer litters I have found that is the best for controlling odors. I have two cats so that is important. I would highly recommend it.
I Was Hoping My Search Was Over We just got a cat about two months ago so I am trying out different litter to see which one will work for us. This brand just doesn't clump as well on urine as the other clumping litter brands we've tried. It does mask the odor of the cat feces but the odor of the litter is unpleasant. I can't quite explain it. The litter box is scooped every day so I'm not sure what else I could do. It looks like I'm going to be continuing my search for the perfect litter because this one isn't it.
Great stuff I also do not understand the negative feedback previously listed. I've also tried a wide variety of clumping litter and am thrilled with the performance of Double Duty low dust kills fecal odor. Unless my cats don't cover I don't notice the litter box at all. I have no idea what vile smell people report for the used litter. The worst used odor smell I ever experienced was with the crystal litter varieties smelled like pig manure to me literally. I also dislike perfumed litters but the Double Duty fresh out of the box is very pleasant but not overly cloying or perfumed. It's one of the reasons I like the litter so much. I'm a convert to Double Duty and will not be going back.
Disgusting I cannot stand this litter and I will never buy it again.I was using Fresh Step which I had no problems with other than it's quite dusty but that wasn't that big a deal.My boyfriend went to the pet store last time for litter and came back with this stuff. For me it clumps fine and isn't dusty. But oh my goodness the SMELL.First of all let me just say that it does not smell that great to start out with. However the odor of the litter itself is tolerable if you're not close to the box. I also don't notice urinary odors when my cat goes to the box.But oh my goodness the SOLID WASTE smell is HORRIBLE. When I was using Fresh Step I *never* smelled my cat's feces. When he eliminated I would occasionally smell the perfumed litter scent when he went to cover it which was pleasant enough. But with THIS I couldn't even believe it. Hours after my cat relieved himself my entire bathroom and bedroom smelled like he had pooped on the FLOOR but he had not.I live in a smaller apartment so this litter is just NOT going to cut it if it's going to make my entire living space smell like poop. And honestly even if I had a huge house I wouldn't touch this stuff. As I said it clumps fine and takes care of urine odors but the solid waste smell is a DEAL BREAKER.
Competitors writing these bad reviews???? Competitors have to be planting these horrible reviews. It's the only explanation I can come up with because I LOVE this product! I have three adult cats and four six month old kittens and I've tried every litter on the market for the five litter boxes I clean twice a day. Nothing worked until I tried Arm and Hammer Double Duty. I have a very sensitive nose so I am extremely particular about the litter boxes. With seven cats I have to be. There is no perfume smell there is no chemical smell. The litter does NOT get 'sticky'. It scoops out quite easily if you clean the box regularly as you're supposed to do. If I had to describe the scent of the litter I'd have to say it has a faintly citrus smell. In fact the first thought I had when I opened the box was It smells like 7UP. I've never used a litter that eliminated urine and poop smells so completely. It's fabulous. I am however going to buy up every box I can get my paws on just in case these wacky reviews manage to kill sales as I suspect they're intended to do. I'm also going to write to the manufacturer of this outstanding product and let them know that they have at least one very loyal and grateful customer.
I only use it because it was free! Thankfully this was free after rebate. The smell is vile. And it doesn't cover up the poop smells but enhances them so there is a flowerypoopy smell coming from the litter box. The cheap Walmart brand does a better job. I seriously hate walking by the litter box. This is unfortunate considering I live in an apartment. I don't know why Arm & Hammer had to use this artificial flowery smell for their litter.
Works great I used Arm and Hammer Multi Cat litter for my two old cats and tried the Double Duty litter when it was available at Walmart. It works great. I don't know what others are complaining about but I don't smell anything 'chemical' about it in general. May be if I put my nose in it I will smell it. Cats love it and I love it. I know from trying other brands when I first adopted the cats their urine and feces are pretty smelly. I don't have that problem anymore and it clumps well. I clean it once a day and all is well. Even when I leave them home for 23 days at a time and not clean the litter box like I usually do the apartment doesn't smell bad.
